Chest Trauma

In the chest Trauma pt after secure the air way

Assess the breathing by Look\Feel and Listen

*Look for chest movement and it is symmetry [if there is paradoxical movement it indicates flail chest \if there is area moving less it indicates hemo or pneumo thorax

*Feel the chest expansion and percuss to detect any abnormality[if there is hyperresonance it indicates pneumothorax but if there is dullness it indicates heamothorax]

*Listen for decreased air entary

Note

The most important examination approach is the percussion because ih differentiate between the heamothorax and pneumothorax
